Jairo Mejia, M.D.

Dr. Mejia received his medical degree in Colombia and completed residencies both in Colombia and at Mt. Sinai Hospital in Chicago. "I chose to specialize in internal medicine because I enjoy working with patients and their medical needs throughout their life" he says. Dr. Mejia has a special interest in obesity and diabetes particularly in the Mexican-American community. In his spare time, he enjoys painting with oil on canvas. Dr. Mejia is fluent in Spanish.

Gary Barsky, M.D.

Dr. Gary Barsky received his medical degree at University of Illinois Medical School and completed his residency at the University of Illinois Department of Dermatology Chicago. He is a Board Certified dermatologist and a member of the American Academy of Dermatology and American Society of Dermatologic Surgery. Both of Dr. Barsky’s parents were community health physicians and it influenced him to have his own career in community health. Dr. Barsky has a strong desire to educate his patients about the importance of preventive health care to ensure chronic diseases are treated early and managed effectively.

Joseph Mountain, P.A.

Joseph Mountain graduated from Rosalind Franklin University School of Medicine and Science with a Masters degree in Physician Assistant Studies. He is credentialed through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants. Joseph is passionate about family medicine and knew that working at ACCESS would allow him to use this passion to better the lives of his patients. In his practice, Joseph uses a patient-centered approach where he looks at the patient’s physical, mental, and social health rather than only focusing on the issue presented at the visit. He believes that this approach to patient care is vital to the long term well being of his patients. When not at work, Joseph can often be found in nature, either gardening, camping, fishing, or even rock climbing.  

Jacqueline Greene-Roper, M.D.

Jacqueline Greene-Roper earned her medical degree at the Loyola Stritch School of Medicine and completed her residency at the West Suburban Medical Center. Dr. Greene-Roper is licensed through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation and is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians as well as the Illinois Academy of Family Physicians. Dr. Greene-Roper's approach to care is guided by the belief that every person deserves quality, comprehensive, and efficient health care that is built on a positive patient-physician relationship. Dr. Greene-Roper understands the difficulties many people in Chicago face in accessing care and assists her patients in providing linkages to health care and other services. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, and being in nature.

Steven Miguel Chapa, P.A.-C.

Steven Chapa received his Master of Medical Science (M.M.S.) in Physician Assistant Studies from Midwestern University. He is licensed through the state of Illinois and is a certified Physician Assistant through the National Commission On Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Steven was born and raised in DuPage County and is dedicated to ensuring his community has access to high-quality health care. By providing comprehensive and compassionate health care and education, Steven hopes that his patients can leave our health centers empowered and equipped to live a healthier life. Outside of work, Steven enjoys being outdoors and spending time with family and friends.

Colleen Joseph, D.N.P., I.B.C.L.C.

Colleen Joseph, D.N.P., I.B.C.L.C., received her Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Loyola University. She is credentialed through the American Nurses Credentialing Center and is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, Nurse Practitioners in Women’s Health and Sigma Theta Tau Honors Society. Colleen has committed her medical career to providing care to those who need it most and believes everyone should have access to quality, affordable health care. Every patient she sees, she strives to provide them the same care and attention she would show to a member of her family. Outside of work, Colleen enjoys running marathons, CrossFit and spending time with friends and family. She is fluent in Spanish.

Wesley Harmston, D.O.

Dr. Wesley Harmston received his medical degree from Midwestern University and completed his residency at Resurrection Medical Center. Dr. Harmston is board-certified through the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians. He is a member of the Illinois Osteopathic Association, the American Osteopathic Association and the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians. Dr. Harmston believes in providing considerate care and thoughtful interactions with all his patients. His approach to care involves listening empathetically to all patients and taking their concerns and questions seriously. He is also great at thoroughly explaining medical issues related to Osteopathic and sports medicine to his patients. Dr. Harmston is drawn to community health because he values creating strong relationships with his patients in the community. Dr. Harmston is fluent in Italian. In his free time, he enjoys hiking and White Sox baseball.

Sanah Ruhullah, M.D.

Sanah Ruhullah earned her medical degree at the Shadan Institute of Medical Sciences in Hyderabad, India and completed her residency at the Puerto Rico Children’s Hospital. Dr. Ruhullah is licensed through the Illinois Department of Financial & Professional Regulation and is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She decided to work in a community health care setting because she enjoys providing holistic care to diverse communities. Dr. Ruhullah believes that all children deserve access to high quality, patient-centered care. She is a self-described foodie and also enjoys gardening and traveling. She is fluent in Spanish and Urdu.

Melva Navarro, P.A.

Melva Navarro completed her physician assistant studies at the Yale School of Medicine. She is credentialed through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants. Melva is dedicated to serving the community she was raised in by providing culturally competent care that understands the factors that impact patients’ quality of care. She wants to establish authentic connections with each of her patients so that she can collaborate with them on a care plan that improves their quality of life. Outside of work, Melva enjoys spending time with her children, listening to audiobooks, and dancing. Melva was born in Veracruz, Mexico and is fluent in Spanish.

Georgina Cano, L.C.S.W.

Georgina Cano earned her Master of Social Work from the Jane Addams College of Social Work at the University of Illinois-Chicago after serving in the US Army. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation. It is important to Georgina that she can help her community break through the cultural barriers in receiving mental health services, and she works to provide a safe space for immigrants like herself. She treats each client with respect, dignity, and compassion while supporting them wherever they are in their mental health journey. Outside of work, Georgina enjoys traveling, attending community events, and spending time with her dogs and family. Georgina is fluent in Spanish.

Audrey Richardson, M.D.

Dr. Audrey Richardson received her medical degree from Fatima College of Medicine in the Philippines and completed her residency at St. Elizabeth’s Family Practice in Chicago. She is licensed by the American Board of Family Medicine and a member of the Illinois Academy of Family Physicians. Dr. Richardson is dedicated to serving the needs of underserved families and individuals from newborn, pediatrics, adolescents and geriatrics. She is fluent in Spanish and Tagalog. In her free time, Dr. Richardson enjoys music, movies and reading.

Laura A. Lopez, P.A.-C.

Laura Lopez received her certification in Physician Assistant Studies from City Colleges of Chicago Malcolm X College. She is licensed by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Laura is looking forward to working in community health care and with a diverse population. She is committed to teaching her patients to make healthier life choices, while empowering themselves. In her spare time, Laura enjoys travelling with her children, exploring national parks and exploring the great restaurants of Chicago. Laura is fluent in Spanish.

Kristin Bean, P.A.-C.

Kristin Bean received her master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Rush University in Chicago, where she also completed a specialty year in Emergency Medicine. She is licensed by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants. Kristin believes that everyone deserves the same respect and quality of care regardless of the communities in which they live or their financial situations. She believes in shared decision making when it comes to developing individual health plans and encourages patients to take an active role in their own health. Kristin speaks Spanish. In her free time, Kristin enjoys singing, playing piano, traveling (especially to Latin America), and hiking.

Carolina Ayala, P.A.-C. received her Master of Physician Assistant Studies at Northern Arizona University and is credentialed through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Illinois Academy of Physician Assistants. Carolina enjoys being a part of a multidisciplinary team to provide high quality patient health care in communities that need it most. She strives to deliver compassionate health care and partners with her patients to tackle health problems and goals together. Outside of work, Carolina enjoys traveling, snowboarding and finding new places to eat. She is fluent in Spanish.

Mireya Ledesma, P.A.-C.

Mireya Ledesma completed the Physician Assistant program at John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County/City Colleges of Chicago. She completed a practicum at John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital. She is licensed as a Physician Assistant and Registered Nurse and is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants. Mireya enjoys traveling and outdoors activities and has previously participated in a medical mission to the Dominican Republic. She is also fluent in Spanish.She is excited about working in medically underserved communities and using her language skills in order to educate and teach patients.
